Crime Prevention Tips

The "Kingwood Public Safety Meeting" meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the South Woodland Hills Community Center, 2030 Shadow Rock.

PIP 'Positive Interaction Program' meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Kingwood Church of Christ, 2901 Woodland Hills.

National Night Out is the first Tuesday of October. More information coming.


The Hunters Ridge Village Board of Directors and the Crime Watch & Patrol Coordinators are asking for the residents' assistance in reducing crime in our village. Our goal is to keep Hunters Ridge Village as safe as possible. Please consider lending your help to our Crime Watch Committee.





Summer is a time of year that many families go on vacation. Being on vacation can lead to crime victimization if appropriate crime prevention measures are not followed. Most families do not think about being victimized while on vacation because of all the excitement of going on vacation. The following crime prevention tips are designed to allow the vacationer to enjoy a safe and secure trip and return to a secure residence.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, – “Household property crimes exhibited a pattern of seasonal fluctuations from 1993 to 2010. The most common pattern for household property crimes was that victimization occurred at higher rates during the summer than during other seasons.” Please click here for some important safety tips.
